Well, color me confused...

So I wouldn't consider myself to be very politically inclined, but there has got to be a better way to get people (like me) to vote.  Instead, the world of bondage now becomes a wee bit appealing.

grow up

I've come to somewhat of a life changing realization lately

The world is huge.  Now I don't mean to state the obvious, but when you're traveling and see hundreds of unfamiliar faces every day, it really dawns on you that you are a very small piece of the life puzzle.  So live a little, and take a step out of the familiar.

Everybody you meet has some sort of influence on your life-  no matter the size the effect, they will slightly or generously change your perspective on certain things.  Either way, an opinion or outlook that you may have not thought about before will now be at the least recognized.  And the more people you meet, the more your perspective will constantly change-- an inevitable oxymoron.  But nonetheless, it's there.  Your conversations, actions, and experiences have ingrained something in your mind that will stick with you until your grave.  Then when you feel like you've experienced the entire spectrum of hypocrisy and concluded them with enough revelations, you start to create an image in your head as to what kind of person is the most ideal- what sort of person you strive to be.  That feeling, I think, will set the foundation in this process we call growing up.

self pep talk

I realized that I'm going to have a lot of free time for the next 2-3 months.  My current consulting project in Toronto is ever-so-graciously limiting us to 8 hours day.  Now this may seem normal to the every day white collar worker, but to a consultant, that is what we call a break.  Anyway, they're not purposely being nice...  the client does not have enough computers to accommodate all of us at once, so they decided to break up the day into two shifts.  Needless to say, I am a huge fan.

So the question is, what am I going to do with all my free time?  Pursuing some sort of test like the CFA or CPA would be the most logical/responsible choice, but doing that sort of solidifies my position in the corporate world.  So I have a few other options...

- Gym.  If I can only get off my ass.
- Poker.  If I can only stop tilting and getting impatient.
- Daytrade.  If I can only stop entering trades on a whim and instead, do more solid research.
- Read.  I've picked up a few books.  I should do something with them.

I see a lot of excuses.  Who was it that said you are your own worst enemy?  Yeah, I'm feeling a lot of that lately.  So here we go.

"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows not victory or defeat."

- Theodore Roosevelt
